We hired Best Price Moving and storage to move our furniture from Carmel, Indiana to Monroe, Ga. They missed several delivery dates and then tried to use delivery dates that did not work for us. They are now holding our furniture hostage until we pay for bogus delivery fees and refuse to deliver the furniture at all. If that isn't bad enough they are requesting that we pick the furniture up and will not release the location until; we pay these bogus fees. We have no idea as to what part of the country that the furniture is even in. This company is a total scam and RIP OFF!! We are in the process of turning this over to our attorney. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

I value this company to take care of my personal household goods. They lost a lot of my boxes including valuable items. When contacted them they did not want to compensate for my loss. I don’t know how many times my boxes were transferred between trucks, so please do not trust them to get you where you need to go. They will only send you an apology letter for the inconvenience.

Best Price Moving and Storage did not disappoint. They finished the move under the estimated time, were pleasant, hardworking and professional and kept asking if there was anything more they could do to help me get set up in my new place.

No hidden fees, very fair prices and very quick work. They made it as easy as possible. Everything was so professional and nothing was broken or lost. They are my first choice from now and would definitely recommend it to anyone moving.

Moved from MI to TX. Barely had any communication on date of delivery. The day before they call and say they will be at my place THE NEXT DAY. No heads up so I can have the final balance. I told them I had stairs initially so I figured they would have tied that in but no. So as I'm picking up the money I get charged an extra $200+ for the delivery cause I had stairs AND “a long haul fee” but the apartment was less than 30ft away from the delivery truck.

Horrible company and they are unprofessional. Promised me 2 delivery dates and even picked up my stuff a week early so it could arrive on time. I still didn’t receive my items until 2 weeks later. I call and the lady says that my initial drop off date was not the date I picked for delivery but “the first possible date” so it didn't count. In the initial phone conversation I told him I started my job the first week in June so I needed my clothes on June 1st. Got them a week later. It's poor communication between their whole operations system. Never again.

      Reviewed Dec. 9, 2021

We, unfortunately, chose Best Price Moving & Storage for our move between Chicago and North Carolina. The salesman explained that it was cheaper because they consolidated moves so that it would take 7-10 days, and at no point did they say otherwise. We were willing to put up with that for a quote a half of a dedicated white-gove mover, which would take no more than three days. There are four reasons I regret this decision.

      1) LOUSY QUOTE: We hadn't packed when we hired them, so it was hard to estimate how many boxes we needed to move. They told us they would call us a few days before picking up the stuff to finalize the quote. And when they did, they weren't very interested in adjusting the quote with the details we were trying to give them. This would have been the opportunity to cancel or get rid of items based on a revised quote. Also, any adjustments on the day of the move would be more expensive so it wasn't in their best interest to help us minimize this cost. Therefore, when they arrived to take our stuff in Chicago, our initial quote increased by over 60%.

      2) DELIVERY DELAYS: Now relocated in North Carolina using cardboard furniture and plastic forks/knives, 7-10 days came and went. When I called them to inquire, they said that was their "courtesy estimate", but because of COVID they were taking longer. They pointed to the contract. The contract said they could take up to a month and a half. Thankfully they ended up taking half as much but still twice as much as their "courtesy estimate". We could be blamed for not reading the fine print, except the contract was signed on the day of the move in a rush because everyone had to go (first time we saw this document btw).

      3) MAFIA MOVES: The day scheduled for the delivery was a Saturday. I called the main office for Best Price Movers to ensure that it went without a hitch. I asked if they would be available on Saturday, and they said they had one person scheduled to come in to deal with issues. On Saturday, I called the office all morning, and that person did not answer.

When the moving truck arrived, the driver measured the distance between the truck and the apartment. Then, he calculated that it would cost us over $500 in additional costs so he could unload the truck. It wasn't accurate so I called the office again in front of him but nobody picked up. He seemed offended and proceeded to allegedly call the office worker directly to "her cellphone", and then apparently verified his calculation over the phone but at one point "accidentally" mentioned the elevator. He told me that since he reported the elevator now the cost would increase to $700 - it was my fault because he wouldn't had called had I not questioned him. It seemed very fake that in such a short conversation, so many numbers were crunched.

After that charade, he said that the only way he would unload the truck was to transfer the money or hand over the cash. It was a hostage situation. It only surprised me a little bit when the Zelle transfer was direct to him and not the moving company that hired him. It took him 90 minutes to unload that truck with one helper, so all the additional distance and the elevator weren't so much more work. During the ordeal, he bragged about how many jobs he was doing because of the pandemic and how people were desperate. And that what I had paid so far for my move "was nothing". He had seen people spend much more. To me, it was a big deal. I paid almost the same amount for mediocre and slow service I would have paid for a reputable moving point-to-point company.

      4) BROKEN/MISSING ITEMS: The kicker is once they had left and we were unloading boxes we realized one of the boxes had been repacked. Inside, there were bits of items that had broken and a few missing items. Again, nothing of great value but what offended us is they hadn't notified us that an accident had happened with our stuff. Also, we hadn't paid the high cost of insurance with them, so we would have got pennies if we would have made a claim.

In summary, don't hire them. I regret it because the move was manageable enough to make with a U-Haul, so if I wanted cheap, I could have made that happen and hired professional movers at each location to load/unload and I wouldn't have to wait weeks for my stuff. Alternatively, paying for the dedicated moving was, in hindsight, also a better alternative than Best Price Moving, because they have better guarantees in place.

I was connected to Best Price Moving via a broker. The business entity I initially dealt with was Compass Van Lines. I did not know who would actually do the move from WI to UT. I was contacted diligently about payments, when due, acceptable form of payment, but not about the actual company. On the packing day what appeared to be a rental truck with 3 guys arrived. The extra charges for tape, packing already packed items was mentioned. I told them I had requested self packing and did not agree to have them repack my stuff. That went ok, I think. Then I was informed about delivery window, and again advised of payment due, acceptable forms of payment.

On the day before confirmed delivery day I was called by driver, told there was a highway closure and that delivery would be delayed, and I would be updated. When I was not contacted I called and texted the driver. He texted back, informed me that my possessions were left in Denver CO. He would not state where or how I could track them down. I tried calling and emailing the company contact, no response. The info on road closure is clearly indicated on travel sights as well as highway signs well before Denver CO; alternative routes are available. So far, I have not been advised of where my move was left, which company or any useful information. I will update my review if/when delivered or I am told where my stuff is to pick up. Terrible experience.

Steer clear of this fraudulent moving company. They didn’t honor a binding quote and added bogus delivery charges, totaling $3,158 more than our contract. They held our possessions hostage and threatened to put them in storage until we paid them in cash. They showed up a day late for delivery with only one mover (2 hours later locating one on Craigslist), requiring us to unload our own possessions. And, they lost and broke some items. I could go on but will just say buyer beware!

I recently wrote and revised a few reviews on this company (they were appointed by Colonial Van Lines as the moving company for my out of state move). The Original reviews are based off of my moving experience... damaged as well as missing furniture (among a couple other things). This company has somehow damaged most of my fairly new wooden furniture -- as well as misplaced one of the large side panels of my bed. So I have been sleeping on mattresses only since... and the rest of the bed could not be put together without the panel -- so they had to leave it disassembled.

I have never heard of this company until my experience thru Colonial Van Lines (the movers that hired this moving company to move my furniture -- of which I still don't understand). My advice to you is to make sure you avoid this setup. And IF you Decide to go thru Colonial Van Lines -- ask who is moving your funiture! If they speak anything about this company being a part of your move -- Please don't waste your money or put yourself thru the unnecessary issue. You will be seeing this same review on this company on other sites. Hopefully it will help someone else not make the same mistake of going with this company as I did.
