How do Frontpoint security systems work?

The Frontpoint Hub and Keypad act as the system’s command center, with cellular connection to 24/7 professional monitoring. You control a Frontpoint system using the company app, Google Home or Alexa. The company gives you the option to choose one of its home security packages or design your own system with add-ons like cameras and sensors.

Systems are easy to install, according to reviewers: “The products are the easiest to install and the company backs their products,” a customer in California told us. “We recently ordered three HD indoor cameras and they were a breeze to install.”

Frontpoint monitoring costs

Monitoring with Frontpoint costs $50 a month. Both plans come with crash-and-smash protection, automated system checks, remote access and control, mobile alerts and unique user codes. The Ultimate Plan also includes motion-triggered alerts, light control, live video streaming and smart lock control.

Frontpoint’s build-your-own option lets you design the right protection package for your home. How much does Frontpoint cost per month?

Frontpoint monitoring costs $49.99 per month. On the lower end, Frontpoint’s monitoring plan includes 24/7 professional monitoring, automated system checks, mobile alerts and monitoring. For a higher price, you can get features like live streaming, night vision, light and smart lock control and motion-triggered alerts.

Can I use Frontpoint without monitoring?

Not really. You can’t get Frontpoint without a monitoring contract, and Frontpoint equipment only works with the monitoring app.

What is Frontpoint’s return policy?

Frontpoint has a 30-day risk-free trial period. During this time, customers can install the system in their homes and try it to see if it fits their lifestyle. Within 30 days, customers can return the system using free shipping for a full refund.

After 30 days, early termination of the 36-month contract may result in Frontpoint charging an early termination fee of 80% of the monthly charges for the remainder of the contract term.

According to a reviewer in Colorado, you have to call during weekday business hours to cancel. Frontpoint then sends you a link to go through the cancellation process.

Does Frontpoint equipment come with a warranty?

Frontpoint provides a three-year limited warranty. It will replace or repair a defective part without charge as long as you’re an active customer in good standing.

How loud is Frontpoint’s alarm?

The Hub's siren emits at 104.5 decibels.

What home automation technology is compatible with Frontpoint?

Is Frontpoint worth it?

    Technician suggested the drawer test to determine if they are faulty but I later decided to have them deactivated for the time being. It's no coincidence the both units gave false alarms in the same time frame. However, it's not convenient right now to manage this test. I am always impressed with the quality of your people and their ability to resolve issues. I would have liked to replace the sensors, but at $64 each with 15,% discount it's more than I want to spend on the problem.

    We have had Front Point for a number of years at least 5 years. Front Point has always responded within moments when we failed to sign or when we accidentally set the alarm off. Your recent offer to upgrade our cell phone at no cost to us was outstanding. The directions supplied with the unit was excellent and I was able to do it myself in a few minutes.

    Your offer of 2 months free service for a renewal was only topped by exchanging that offer for a "Alarmed front door lock and a garage sensor both of which, I have been wanting for a number of years. The installation was very easy, the issue I had with the garage sensor was addressed in a 1 minute phone call to Front Point Service. The lock was a Yale lock that would have costed $300++ if purchased directly from Yale. We are very happy with the quality of your service and equipment.

    Been with Frontpoint since 2017. Called in 2020 because I needed 2 door sensors ($19.99 each). Told at that time I needed to upgrade to the newest hub and panel - $289.96. Now, it's Aug 2023 and I was looking to cancel service to cut some costs, since it has been almost 3 years since that event - what a surprise to find out they locked me into a 60 month contract or pay 80% of it to cancel. Seriously, a 60 month contract for $289.96 in parts, when all I really needed was $40 in parts. RIDICULOUS. No supervisor available to help either. Pick anyone else.

    I purchased the whole package; 3 door sensors, 2 garage door, 1 indoor & 2 outdoor cameras, motion sensor, water sensor, approx 12 window sensors, keypad door lock, remote keypad, door camera, control panel, etc... Had many calls to support to fix installation issues due to no connection to control panel. After 3 door locks and 2 control panels everything "works".

    The outdoor cameras work "sometimes" so if someone is in your driveway messing with your cars and you want to check your camera good luck. They use a third party "alarm" app that isn't even their own so you may or may not be able to control specific features. Like changing the volume or light intensity on the control box. Can't do it. If you want a video of the wind triggering your door camera every 15 seconds this is the system for you. I got so tired of messing with the settings I eventually turned off all notifications.

    I should specify things weren't as bad until the second replacement control box. Regardless it was unreliable if you are away and want to monitor cameras remotely. My issue with them is cancellation after fulfilling your contract. I attempted to make cancellation calls but they keep you on hold indefinitely if even answering at all. I gave up and wrote a cancellation letter. Still being billed after fulfilling and cancelling my 3 year contract so I started emailing them to no effect. I was told I didn't send my cancellation letter certified and it wasn't received yet the person I was emailing had a copy of my cancellation request and they continued to bill me.

    I filed a BBB complaint stating they wouldn't cancel my account and continued to bill me and their response was they consider my account still open and continued to bill. I have copies of all correspondence, emails and BBB complaint/response. Now they sent me to collections for $267 and it has dropped my over 850 credit score and will remain on my report for 7 years. Thanks Frontpoint. Much appreciated.

    “Frontpoint marketing and financial practices are totally predatory, detrimental, deceptive, unlawful, and dangerous for consumers. helpless customers that were misled, exploited, and unfairly treated by this home security system company. “ They have made a name for themselves by offering unique packages and products that happen to be untrue, distorted and faulty, falling short of real expectation and delivery of services in good faith which puts them at the center of a lot of consumer complaints. Their WRITTEN CONTRACT THAT LOCKS YOU DOWN FOR 3 YEARS, it is concealed and masked, and cancellation procedures are not displayed including their online account portal. In addition, they have in place a large-systematic fraudulent scale of electronic auto-payment which is arranged to overcharge customer in a monthly basis, even after months of cancellation, despite of service failure, shortage, disruption, and defective equipment.

    It is an awful service. In my case, I sold my house, and I was literally forced to stay in contract or pay a whopping amount of $1,800 for cancellation. We tried many times to settle this account in good faith and they rejected every single one of our offers. Two years later, without duly process, proper notice and arbitrarily they sent a fabricated, fake and devious bill to collection which was reported to the credit bureau to damage our outstanding personal credit. We are suing this company for unlawful and unfair business practice, consumer right violations, abuse of financial power and deceptive trade practice. We cannot stretch enough that kind of larceny, misappropriation, and thievery this company does. Please, report, take action and safeguard yourself from Frontpoint.

    I installed door sensors, motion sensors, glass breakage sensors, garage door sensor, and smoke sensors throughout my whole house. Not that difficult and it has worked flawlessly for 5-6 years. Phone and internet service is very good, and the monthly fee is very reasonable.
