The company’s movers are also well trained and go through a vetting process that includes a physical and drug testing.

Once you agree to the quote, the company books a date to ensure your items arrive at your new home on time. On your moving day, expert movers carefully handle your belongings and safeguard them throughout the trip.

Customer service is available 24/7 to ensure you can always get your questions answered. You can reach the company by phone or email. The company recommends calling four to eight weeks in advance of your move to save money and ensure that the moving date is available.

Golden Gate Relocation pricing

The cost to move your belongings depends on the size of your home and how far you’re moving. Additional services, such as wrapping, packing and storage, add to the cost. Golden Gate Relocation works with you to review your moving needs and keep you informed. It aims to provide an accurate quote so you don’t have any surprises on moving day.

If you’re looking to save, book your move as far as possible in advance to get the best price. It’s also best to move on a weekday, preferably in the middle of the month — this is less expensive than moving on a weekend.

I worked with different people from Golden Gate Relocation as the process went through. The payment was easy and everything was explained on the time frame, how it worked and how much it was gonna cost in total. The deposit and what would be left that would be paid on pick-up and delivery were also explained. It was $3,100 to move from Northern California to here in Kansas so that's a great price. But we got a discount because I had booked right before the busy season. The crew was professional and knew what they were doing, wrapping everything. They were in and out in under 40 minutes so it was quick once they showed up.

My mom was at the house during the delivery and I heard from her that it went well. It took a while for the crew to figure out what exactly was hers. The truck sat out there while they went through and made sure that they had all of her stuff. After we went through and unpacked all her stuff, she found everything. So, the crew didn’t miss anything.

The only issue that we had with Golden Gate was on payment. I had talked to multiple people to make sure that my mom could pay what was left of the bill in full instead of paying on delivery. On pick-up, she could pay the rest of it and just give them all the money and in cash. The guy screwed up on the map and it was a week before the truck got here. They started talking to us about us needing to pay the rest of it and I told them I talked to their guy multiple times and he said that was 100% of what we owed and we wouldn't owe anything else. But after they left, I did the math myself and we were short $500. Other than that, everything was great.

When I sold my house, I wanted to get all my stuff to Michigan where we have a home. I spoke to Jim at Golden Gate and I was comfortable with him. I hired them for a move of 2,200 miles and it was pretty painless. The guys who moved the furniture from the house were fast. We already packed up a lot of the boxes and pictures when they arrived, but they wrapped everything and they didn’t fool around.

On the Michigan end, my stuff had to be offloaded from a big truck to a smaller truck, and the guys who came for that were great as well. But it cost me 50 bucks to rent a little truck for them to utilize to get up my driveway. They told me to contact Jim to get reimbursed but I haven't done that. Also, a couple of picture frames were broken. But they were going from one truck to another truck to another truck, so there were a lot of people handling them. Other than that, they delivered before I could take my stuff because I was out of town. So they had to wait on me.

The price of Golden Gate Relocation was affordable. They only charged me $4,200. Brian gave me the quote. The following day, I had the bill. It was 14.70 to hold that quote and for that time. I had scheduled it for sometime in June. But I had to reschedule for it to be picked up a month in advance and they were able to do that.

They picked up the furniture on May 1st. I Zelled them some more money the day of the pickup. They packaged everything. They looked at the furniture to make sure it was in good condition. When they did that, they loaded everything up on the truck. I didn't have an address at that time to have my furniture delivered here to Columbus, Ohio. It was not a problem. They would hold my furniture if need be. I was able to get my apartment on May the 16th and I notified them of the address. My furniture was scheduled for June the 1st. But they delivered it a week and a half before. The only issue I have with them is that, I still have some items missing and they're still looking for those items.

I got a call from a gentleman named Jim. He was very nice. He said, "Your furniture is gonna be there within two days." I said, "That's gonna be fast." He said, "Yeah, we have a big load going to Ohio." I said okay. But, they didn't come. I think they have a contract with another moving company. So the 18-wheeler brought my furniture to the moving company, somewhere out of Missouri. They came with the U-Haul truck and they brought my furniture.

I had to call Jim back. I said, "I've got two dining room chairs missing and the doggy door is missing." It took them three days to find the chairs and the doggy door. Finally, they found them. I wasn't home they delivered. It was at my front door. Then I noticed, my shoes and sandals are also missing. My grandmother brought these shoes all the way from Amsterdam, Holland. They were designer wooden shoes. I don't know where my items are.

I got a text from Whitney. She said, "Were your shoes in a bag or a tote?" I replied and said, "I believe a tote. My wooden Dutch shoes and my sandals are the two totes. Whitney, I'm not sure. It's a possibility. The colored totes are dark blue or purple." She texted me back and said, "I think I found them." I said, "Okay, no worries, Whitney." But I haven't heard anymore else from them. This was Tuesday, June 6th. But I would definitely recommend them again. They were very swift. Other than that, they really did an amazing job, and they got my furniture here to me as quickly as possible. None of my furniture was damaged. Nothing was broken.

I paid the money and Michael, one of the managers at Golden Gate, gave me a deal and he never persuaded me in any way. For days, he was calling me to check if I got my refund back, and if there was anything he could do, he’d help me. And he reassured me the whole time that I wouldn’t be ripped off. I moved from California to Idaho and their process was very smooth. They were upfront and honest. So, I appreciated that.

I had another moving company eight months prior to that because I've been moving from place to place to place, and they ruined my stuff. They never wrapped my brand new furniture and they dragged it. But the movers sent by Golden Gate wrapped everything nicely and got my things loaded up. Everything was professionally done and nothing was broken. Also, the guys who picked up my stuff and the guys who delivered were really nice people. During the delivery, I called because I got impatient and I wanted to know where my stuff was. They were polite about it and it was a blessing in disguise because the place I moved into had to clean up and clear out.

Initially, I went for the lower option and with a broker. They quoted us 1,700, but when they got there, they told us it'd be 9,000. So I called Cory from Golden Gate and he told me that this happens all the time. He said, "They always see the lower price tag, they go for it, and then the people pull the switcheroo." He told me that they could get me out of there for a certain amount. I called a few other places in LA and then decided that I'd rather go with somebody I trust and I've talked to before.

Cory was very transparent with the process and how to check for legit carriers as opposed to brokers. He was great. He definitely knew his industry very well. I like that I was able to get that knowledge, because, now, when I have anybody else that's gonna move or I know anybody else is gonna move, I'm gonna tell them, "Hey, watch for the lower price. And here's how you make sure they're a carrier and not a broker." So it was very eye-opening.

Golden Gate did pack everything. When they got there, they told me it was probably gonna be a little bit more. The foreman said, "Hey, I'll give you all the packing supplies or everything else for free." I had already packed some stuff and wrapped it, but everything else needed to be wrapped, so he said, "I got you on that." So that was nice. They were great. I'll definitely be using them again. It was nice talking to Cory. We had a lot of similar interests, so we had a nice little personal conversation. Overall, Golden Gate was very professional and efficient. They got me out of there in two and a half hours. I was impressed.

The crew treated our belongings with the utmost care, even packing my televisions for which I had no boxes. Their professionalism and expertise contributed to a wonderful experience and an exceptional job. What stood out to me was their meticulous inventory process, where they documented every item, even the smallest knick-knacks, and provided me with a comprehensive list for my records.

Golden Gate Relocation is a company that appears to prioritize financial gain over customer satisfaction. Initially, I was given a quote of $3,400.00 based on the items I intended to move. However, upon the arrival of the movers, the supervisor conducted a review of all the items to be transported. While I did add a few additional boxes, the increase in quantity did not warrant the drastic change in my worst-case charge, which suddenly escalated to $7,400.00. Even after deciding to leave behind a dresser and a few boxes, I was still billed the exorbitant amount of $7,400.00.

Subsequently, the movers attempted to deliver my belongings at an inconvenient hour of 12 am and demanded the remaining payment in cash before unloading. I requested they return the following day due to the late hour. Upon their return the next day, I observed that my large furniture had sustained damage during the unloading process. What was even more distressing was the harm inflicted on the drywall of my new home and the breakage of an interior stair light fixture.

The insurance provided at a rate of $0.60 per pound proved to be misleading and insufficient. The total weight of the damaged furniture amounted to 456 lbs, which should have corresponded to a settlement of $273.60. However, MovingClaims, the insurance company, offered a mere $75.00 in compensation, completely disregarding the substantial damages inflicted upon my residence, which I had to cover out of my own pocket for repairs. Despite three attempts to address the issue, their responses were dismissive, ultimately stating, "At this stage, our company's involvement has concluded."

Additionally, I was left with shipping boxes that did not belong to me and contained valuable items. In good faith, I reached out to the company to arrange for the return of these items. If you are willing to risk being overcharged and potentially experiencing damage to your home, you may choose to book with Golden Gate Relocation. However, I am confident that you can find a more reputable and professional company for your moving needs.

I hired them thinking this was the best route for me and my family to get our stuff moved at the time. I had to reschedule my pickup date because of timing issues. I ended up not requiring their services and I cancelled 20 days ahead of relocation giving them ample time to cancel. They are claiming that because I requested a reschedule that I'm not entitled to a refund. I'm having the credit card company deal with that at this point. I DO NOT recommend this company to move out of state under no circumstances.

I was impressed by how Tim the foreman who came out and inventoried everything, not to mention how neat and organized the truck was stacked. Golden Gate Relocation exceeded my expectations on every level from the initial call, to the day I received word my furniture would be arriving. If you're moving from California I highly recommend their services. -Thank you. - A. **.
