Talked to a person named Eric, was told they would move our household from Washington to Arizona for a price of $5900. After the mover looked it cost $8000. Plus. Was told they would wrap any breakables and furniture if needed. Nothing was wrapped all our bedroom furniture was scratched and marred. 55 inch TV was in a box. When I opened it it was broken, other collectable were broke. Was told they would stage the house, there was one driver, my wife and I unloaded the truck. No helpers. Said couldn't find anyone to help. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY, IT'S A RIP OFF.

AVOID! I hired this company for interstate move to CA. Everything was OK until the driver delivered my items in Los Angeles where he immediately tried to overstate distance from truck to my door (triple) then tried to extort additional $600 which he had to return when I called to complain. He got angry, uncovered my unblemished white leather sofa and dragged it across the wood floor, which I didn't notice until returning from bedroom where he'd failed to put items where I asked and then stole an entire wardrobe of all my clothes. I've tried to get reimbursed but they offered $75 saying it was "by weight" but they never weighed a thing. I'll never use them again.

      Reviewed March 28, 2023

We made the mistake of using Nationwide company to help us move from Oregon to Ohio. I realize with each passing day how much of a mistake that was for us. If I could leave lower than a 1 star, I would. We were quoted $14,000 to move our things, that included the few extra big items we have, AND they pack. That was all discussed with James. Moving day comes, movers show up… let the ** show begin… First they are short workers and short a driver for the 1.5 truck we had reserved. After that takes a day to figure out, they let us know they weren't aware they were suppose to be packing the house up. After that gets taken care of and they get everything packed and loaded into the truck. They can't do the correct math for the square footage we are taking up on the truck, they overcharge us.

Mike does the math with them on the phone and they won’t change the price, even though we aren’t using what they say we are using. We were over a few hundred square feet in our guesstimating, which we are fine with paying for. We aren’t looking for a free move. We were looking for a stress free move and that was all explained to James from Nationwide. Instead of waiting to load the extra square footage items and communicate everything with us, it is loaded, and then we are told we would either pay for it, or it gets unloaded and we are still charged for all the labor and packing material.

I have seriously never in my life experienced such atrocious service. I wish that was the end of it. We are then told we are going to be charged an expedited fee of $2000, which had never been explained to us. I was told to just let James know a week in advance as to when we needed the pickup. Which is what we did. After everything is loaded onto the truck are we informed that there was a $2000 expedited fee for us not allowing our stuff to be stored and having it taken directly to our new house. We were also told that the person available at our old house for pickup was basically just seeing the stuff off and signing off on inventory. NOT the case. I had some office lady with the worst customer service skills in existence call up and want $7000 now before the trucks take off, and $7000 when they get to Ohio. Mind you we were quoted $14,000 and had already paid $7100 of that.

After arguing back and forth she tries to tell us that our daughter signed all the papers legally binding us to the extra fees. I call my daughter and when she picks up she’s hysterical. I can hear some lady screaming at her asking her if she is the person in charge. My daughter kept telling her no, if she needed anything she needed to talk to her Dad. The driver had the office call his phone and have him give his phone to my daughter to bully her. My daughter did look over all the paperwork she signed and there were never any numbers, just the lists of inventory, so the numbers and extra pricing was added AFTER she signed.

After the movers get everything loaded up, arguing with them and their office people about pricing for 2 hours, they finally leave. My daughter informs me they broke our toilet while packing, and they were making extremely inappropriate sexual comments to her while they were working. I find the work ethic and the way this company does business to be inexcusable, disgusting, and unprofessional to say the least. I will make sure I tell everyone I know NOT to go through you.

Mike has called Nationwide and talked to James’ supervisor about our complaints and pictures of the square footage showing that the numbers we are being charged are WRONG! So far, nothing has been done. Basically they just add random extra charges AFTER they have packed up and loaded all your stuff and you are told you will either pay it, or you won't get your things.

If I could leave zero stars I would. I only hope my review will help others avoid the cluster I dealt with today. I got an estimate from the company, provided them a thorough inventory list, checked the list with the rep (Mark) several times and all looked good. We didn't have a lot to add to the load. They charge by the cubic foot which is ok IF they would actually estimate by accurate cubic foot. It's their business, isn't it, to know how to estimate cubic feet? It's certainly not my area of expertise and it shouldn't have to be when you pay out the wazoo for moving services.

On the day of the move, the movers come in and, lo and behold, they estimate my cubic feet is more than twice what was on the estimate. Well, by this time, they've got you over a barrel and what can you do? I called my rep (Mark) and talked to a customer service manager but was told "your furniture must be larger than standard". Last I knew, a queen sized bed was a queen sized bed and medium boxes were medium boxes. What a crock!!! The onsite mover's updated estimate was $6,000 additional...yes additional.

So...we had them load up the stuff they could in the truck sent and will have to move the rest of it ourselves. Still paying the whole amount they quoted because, well, it's non-refundable and we have to get it moved. They offered to move the additional stuff for a measly $4,200. That's what their customer service had to offer...nothing. I told them I'll deal with it myself.

This is a terrible company. Never do business with them. Initially, when I described my items to the salesman Hamilton, he sounded very nice. He sent me a quote based on what I told him. The quote was $2,100 for 350 cubic feet. It was a Binding Estimate. It sounded like a contract, but it actually was an estimate. When the mover came a week later with a 20' moving van and it was already more than half full. The moving guy looked at my stuff and said our stuff was about 600 cubic feet and we have to pay over $3,600 plus moving materials. I went to his van and measured the space it was about 400 cubic feet space at most. When I asked him to write his estimate of 600 cubic feet space on the contract, he refused.

Finally he said he would do it all in for $3,500, and he would not take credit card, only check or cash. And he said we have to pay cash or money order at delivery. Today, the same guy came over and demanded I pay him cash or money order before he even opened his van. I told him to set up all the furniture before I would pay him, he said no way. So I went to the bank and got the cash for him. However, after I handed over to him the cash, he dropped the big pieces of furniture in our living room and only small furniture in the rooms they were supposed to be and took off. Now, all the big furniture sitting in our living room with their wrapping materials. I tried to call Nationwide about the situation, they would not answer my phone call anymore.

We paid $1500 down for Nationwide to move us. We wanted a direct move and were told we didn’t have enough for our own truck so we paid another $1200 realizing we could use more cubic feet. Nationwide promised we could have our own dedicated truck. Black Bear from Newport Beach called saying they were coming with an 18 wheeler to take our possessions to storage. I said we contracted for a direct move, no storage involved. Black Bear then told me that this is how they do business and if I don’t like it find someone else. Nationwide then set up another carrier that was going to do a direct move for us. We waited for a week and no one came to move us. Friends ultimately did the packing and loading our stuff and drove us to our new location using U-haul. Nationwide kept our $1500 deposit. They didn’t lift a finger to help us move and felt entitled to our money. I would absolutely not recommend them to anyone!

I contracted with Nationwide relocation to move our belongings from Bellevue Nebraska to Apache Junction Arizona. Because of the virus outbreak I called to move the original date to a earlier date. After being charged a additional $300 to change the date the movers did not show up. After reaching out to find out why they had not shown up and being told that the movers would call me the dispatcher gave me the mover's # .When I contacted the mover they told me they had not been notified about the date change. Fast forward my wife and I had made arrangements for a contact to be there to oversee the load out and we began our three day drive. While crossing Ne on I 80 I again called Brandi at nation wide to inquire about a conformation for pick up of our belongings. She ensured me that the movers would arrive at my home the next morning. Super. My son was available to meet them. Day 2 still no truck and a total no show.

Day 3 driver finally calls me to inform me that his truck broke down and they would not be able to pick up again and were not sure when they would arrive. They were trying to find another truck. At that and out of pure frustration I hired another moving company. The mover all of a sudden called me 2 times in about 5 minutes, funny I never heard from them before as promised by customer service when I was calling throughout this ordeal. Nation wide abruptly denied me any type of refund initially but had agreed to refund the $300 up charge for a earlier moving date which never happened and I am still waiting for the refund. When I inquired about the refund of the initial deposit Nation Wide again refused. Stating that I canceled services within the service window. When in fact their driver stated to me that the truck broke down and they did not know when they could pick up our belongings. Very dissatisfied.

We hired this moving company to move all our heavy furniture, they arrived within the requested time. They moved beds, heavy furniture, washer, and dryer, used blankets and lots of shrink wrap. We had no issues, they put everything in their moving truck and drove and hour to our next location. They were time efficient, moved everything in, built all our furniture and had no damages. They are great and the price is reasonable. It was a 3 man team and they were really experienced as well as professional.

Hired Nationwide Relocation for my move from Michigan to California. The experience has been a nightmare and has caused huge problems with my relocation. Was told the move would take place either Friday August 16th or Saturday August 17th and that I would be notified Wednesday of which day the move would take place. Never contacted Wednesday. Called and was told they didn't know yet but would contact me by 7pm Wednesday. Never called that night. Called them again Thursday and they didn't know which day the move would take place. On my second call to them Thursday evening was told "since it's Thursday night the move probably won't be Friday." Called multiple times on Friday and seemed like everyone was out of the office that could help me. Finally I was told the movers would be at my place on Saturday between 9am-noon. Saturday arrives and no word from anyone.

At 2:30pm called and spoke with Alex about where my moving truck was. Multiple calls later, he called me back at 4:20pm and let me know that they would be there Sunday now and that I would have to pay an additional $100 to the movers when they arrived. When I told him this was unacceptable and I wanted my money back he told me that wasn't his job and he was already supposed to have left for the day but stayed here working on this for me. All this after they had increased the original quote by $600 and required an additional deposit. I have dealt with David and Scott mainly and they are great about telling you how they want to provide great customer service and make this as stress free as possible. They have failed miserably on that goal and all the did was take $1250.00 of my money and performed zero service. Would not recommend them at all unless you have money to waste.

OMG, Nationwide Relocation Services is terrible! Totally bait-and-switch! Grrr! NEVER EVER use them for interstate moving, such a sham!! They arrived 3 days later than they originally said they would, 6.5 hours late on the day they finally arrived (which screwed over everyone on our end for timing), they came with a box truck, not a Nationwide moving truck (in fact, hardly anything that had the logo on it... Suspicious), to take our stuff to their WAREHOUSE where, after a week, it's STILL in the warehouse in New York after they told us it would be coming to Florida within a week - the most recent phone call says it won't be here for another 3 weeks.

And worst of all, they DOUBLED the price of the whole move when they arrived to load our things!!! NEVER, I repeat NEVER use this company. They are the worst!!! Waiting here in Florida with an empty house waiting and hoping we ever get our stuff. Terrible terrible terrible. If we had known they would be even half this terrible, we would never have chosen them. Be warned.
