What is Transport Masters USA?

Transport Masters USA is a freight company specializing in auto transportation. It’s registered with the U.S. Department of Transportation and utilizes a network of qualified shippers to relocate all types of vehicles. The company provides customized price quotes to individuals and businesses. The quote includes liability coverage. If you prefer full insurance protection, you can add it on.

Transport Masters USA works with shippers offering both open and enclosed transport. A shipping advisor can help you determine which is best for your vehicle.

How does Transport Masters USA work?

Transport Masters USA utilizes a three-step process to move your vehicle:

  1. Obtain a quote and confirm your order: Since the cost of transporting a vehicle depends on so many factors, you’ll need to provide the company with some basic information to receive a custom quote.
  2. Schedule pickup: You’ll work with a qualified driver to schedule a pickup day. You’ll also do a pre-move vehicle inspection and sign a bill of lading. Once the car is en route, you can track its location.
  3. Receive your vehicle: Once it arrives at its new home, you must check your car for any damage. After you sign the paperwork, you’re charged for the transport.

Transport Masters USA services

Transport Masters USA provides various transport services, including the following:

Door-to-door transport:
The company picks up and delivers your vehicle as close to your door as possible. In case of a size or accessibility restriction, you may need to meet the truck at a nearby location.
Open carrier transport:
This common, economical mode of transport means your car gets loaded onto an open trailer for its journey. It’ll likely be joined by many other vehicles.
Enclosed carrier transport:
If your vehicle needs special protection, the company also offers enclosed transport. Your car gets loaded into an enclosed trailer, where it’s more protected during the move. However, this type of service costs more.
Cross-country auto shipping:
If you need to move your vehicle internationally, Transport Masters USA can help. It provides door-to-door or terminal-to-terminal pickup and delivery. This service should be booked in advance, if possible.
Seasonal relocation:
If you’re a snowbird, the company can help move your vehicle back and forth between your summer and winter homes, allowing you to fly and avoid the stress of driving.
Military auto transport:
The company has experience with the tight turnarounds many military relocations require. It’ll work with you to schedule your PCS orders as quickly as possible. Military discounts are available.
College transport:
Need to get a car to campus so you have your own transportation? The company’s affordable pricing plans make this move more attainable for college students.

In addition, the company offers specialized moves, including:

  • Oversize vehicles: Transport Masters USA can arrange the shipment of large vehicles, such as construction equipment, boats or RVs.
  • Alaska or Hawaii: Transports are not limited to the lower 48 states.
  • Motorcycles: The company has a specialized platform dedicated to moving motorcycles of all kinds.
  • Puerto Rico and the Caribbean: Arrange for port-to-port or door-to-door service between the U.S. to these tropical islands.

Transport Masters USA also offers services for business. These include:

  • Dealer and auction transports: Whether your company needs to move a couple of cars or your entire inventory, Transport Masters USA can help. It also ships to and from auctions.
  • Fleet shipping: The company’s experienced team can handle the logistics of moving your whole fleet from one place to another.
  • Corporate relocation: Transport Masters USA is a one-stop solution when it comes to moving vehicles. It’ll help make your corporate move less stressful.

Transport Masters USA pricing

Since the price of moving a vehicle varies, Transport Masters USA requires you to submit information for a personalized quote. To see how much your move will cost, call and speak to an advisor. If you make the call, you can qualify for up to 20% off.

You can also submit your information online. You’ll need to provide:

  • Pickup and delivery ZIP codes
  • Vehicle year, make and model
  • Name, phone number and email address

Once you submit the information, the company contacts you with a quote. The price of your move varies based on factors such as:

  • Distance
  • Type of vehicle
  • Whether or not your vehicle runs
  • Type of service you’re requesting
  • Discounts you may qualify for

As an example, as of the publishing date, the estimate to move a 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan long-distance (1,800 miles) was $1,950 in an open trailer.

Transport Masters was awesome. They brought my car from San Antonio to Hattiesburg, Mississippi. They were smart enough not to come down my street. They parked on a wider road, a block and a half away, and drove my car over to me off the transport truck. I gave the driver a ride back to the truck. They were very mannerly. I had checked with four other companies that transport cars and it's a wide range of fees to get a transport. Transport Masters was the cheapest. The other ones were competitive and liked to badmouth other folks to get you to go with them. Some of them asked more than 900. Transport Masters wanted 450 total. I had to give 100 for them to get the driver to accept the transport. I gave him 350 in cash when they delivered the car.

Transport Masters was originally a little bit high but after a couple of discounts offered, it went from the most expensive to where it was more palatable. One of the things was the gentleman, PJ, mentioned that they have their own insurance. They check the drivers out. He was responsive until after I engaged him. But once I paid to have the transport done, he was not as responsive. They found a driver and when the guy showed up there was no way I was putting my motorcycle on that guy's trailer. He also was telling me he couldn't guarantee me my motorcycle would be delivered first. He had two antique cars in front of it. It clearly was not a motorcycle transport and he was just trying to fit my motorcycle on his trailer.

I immediately called Transport Masters and told them that I was not squeezing my motorcycle in a space that might fit the motorcycle. At first, it was like I disturbed the rep, but he understood and found me another company to do it who was very good. The guy showed up when he was supposed to. When the guy showed up to pick up early in the morning, it was a torrential downpour going on outside. My driveway's a hill and the trailer couldn't get up. The driver said, "I'll go make another pick up and come back later this afternoon." He did and it was sunny and the weather had moved through. We safely loaded it on the guy's truck. He had a sprinter van and up to four motorcycles on it. The ultimate experience was great.

Transport Masters was fantastic. The driver was excellent. The gentleman that answered the phone was super nice. He offered me discounts. I asked if they had a student discount because my daughter is a student and I was transporting her car. He also asked if we had any veterans in the family. My father is a veteran. He offered us a veteran’s discount. It was still a bit higher than other companies, money-wise, but they have good reviews.

When I booked through the dispatcher, he told me I could pay by Venmo or another cash app like Zelle. But when the driver got to California, he said he didn't take Venmo. That was a problem that we had to work through. I didn't have Zelle or any of those other cash apps, so I was trying to quickly get it but my bank was taking forever to set it up. In the meantime, he got somebody and we used their Venmo account. We were able to work it out eventually, but it took half an hour. He had to wait to get paid because of this and it made me frantic, The dispatcher should have told me the driver didn't take Venmo, he only took Zelle. I would have prepared ahead of time.

My son had an emergency breakdown quite a distance from home. I did a Google search and Transport Masters popped up. I called the number and we were on our way. That was simple. I used them to ship the 3/4 ton Dodge van over 700 miles. I talked to quite a few people. There were three people before the dispatch guy and then there were three people after him. It went well but it just seemed like there was a lot of middlemen in it. I felt bad for the dispatcher because they took a cut on their pay because the actual driver team asked for more money. The driver had held them for ransom. But that's between them and the dispatcher.

The end price was economical. I'm a truck driver as well and I know the work that goes into the miles that they have to put into. I couldn't have done it any cheaper. It fit and it worked perfectly for my situation. The dispatch guy took my payment, which was good. They then passed me on to another dispatcher that dispatched the actual truck. That lady was way too energetic. She was alarming, she was on edge, and she was just frantic trying to get things lined out when she called me. I could not get a word in edgewise. I had to hang up on her to get the task completed.

While I was trying to complete the task, she continued to try and call me back three times while I was in the middle of trying to do the task that she had asked me to do. It was annoying but I know they're from a different country and we got the job done anyway. All in all, Transport Masters was great but the dispatcher of the truck to pick up the van and the delivery guy of the van couldn't speak a lick of English. That was fine too because they just showed up, they delivered the van, and they left. But communication-wise between the final two people was pointless.

Shipping with them was good. There were delays getting my car shipped but they kept me informed. The rep gave very good advice and the quote was better so I was happy with that. The only downside was that the vehicle got stuck in a port in Charleston because it needed a TWIC card in order to get in the port. That was a homeland security thing. It was stuck there for two weeks because I couldn't find a driver to pick it up. I originally thought that the driver was gonna charge $500 to get it from Charleston to Nashville. But then, I ended up spending $800 trying to get a guy, and then paying another guy $100 to get him into the port. Other than that, the car arrived as it should. I was happy with the service.

Great company to work with. They were super helpful in explaining the process to me, answering any questions I had and most importantly keeping me updated the whole way with my vehicle. They made such a stressful situation for me that much easier. Now I know who to go to for any shipping service. Can't ask for better service!

The mover took pictures and we looked the car over when he left. He said that he would send me pictures when he got it here. But he didn't and I didn't hear any more from him at all. When he got here, I had a cracked windshield, and one of the covers was broken off of my door handle. I didn't appreciate that too much and I don't know how in the world you can get a broken windshield and a door handle cover.

My son lives in San Diego and he's in the military. His Cobra SVT was up here in Northern California and I was trying to help him out in shipping his car to where he lives. I called Transport Masters USA and talked to someone named Carlton. He was very helpful, even though it took three weeks to get a driver. We had to take Friday off to wait for the driver to come, then there was no driver. On Saturday, I was told we'd do it for next week. Finally, after three weeks, they found a driver that was supposed to come around 1 o'clock, then it was 3 o'clock. And by the time the guy got there it was 8 o'clock. But it was fine. The person that I talked to that was managing was very attentive and would call me back as soon as he got my call. He would let me know what was going on.

We were not in a rush, so it didn't really matter if we had to have a need for the car to be there on a certain day. The only thing I required was that the car would get there on a Saturday because my son works Monday through Friday. In the week that the car was finally picked up, he had that Friday off. So they were able to pick up the car Thursday night and they delivered it on Friday. It was transported uncovered and he had to meet the driver because his house is up a little bit on the hill and that carrier couldn't go up there.

I was very happy with the company and with the service. The quote they provided me was average to the other quotes that I've gotten and they stuck to their price. But when my son received the car, the engine light was on, and it was not when we gave him the car. The guy that picked up the car had five cars on his trailer that he was pulling with a pickup and it it seemed to be too many cars for that kind of a trailer. And when my son checked it the next morning, there were some wires hanging on the front. When he delivered the car, he only had two cars on the trailer. So, he had to drive his car up from the trailer, up and down a few times. My son sent me pictures and I called the company again. Carlton tried to be very helpful and said he would talk to the manager. He said the manager would call me but he never did.

Then Carlton called me and said that the guy wanted proof. I did not take pictures under the car or the dashboard. But I know that when the driver picked up the car, if he would have seen a light, he would have said something. He never did. Also, my husband sat in the car the day before and there was no engine light. I also know there were no wires hanging because we just had new tires put on and the car was on a lift. So Carlton said he would talk to the guy and he would call me back. But nobody called me back and it's been two weeks.

This morning, I called Carlton back and he was very attentive. He answered our call right away. He said he was sorry and that he'd talk to his boss. He talked to his boss and the boss said that because my son didn't fill anything on the manifesto when they dropped off the car, they would take no responsibility. So I was not happy with that. The owner should have talked to me and there should be some sort of resolution. I'm going to call my credit card to find out if there's anything I can do.

The driver picked up the car on the day he was supposed to but my biggest issue with it was that he took my car for a spin. I told the Transport Masters seller that I dealt with that I have proof and he was asking me how I have proof. I have a dash cam on the vehicle and I have a GPS tracker on the vehicle. The only person who helped me when I called on a Saturday because I was infuriated, was Carlton. My broker was PJ but he said there was nothing he could do. He didn't say anything and I was on my own.

I contacted the company of the driver and I never heard from them again. I texted the driver that I had proof that he drove the vehicle late at night. I sent everything to PJ through email. I sent him three emails but apparently, he doesn't work on Saturday. And on Monday, he never got a chance to give me a call. So, I had to call him five times. When he picked up the phone, his attitude was completely different when he wanted to get the money for the deposit. He told me he would call the driver and I asked him for what. The driver is gonna tell him he didn't drive it. He’s gonna tell me the driver told him that he didn’t drive it. And I'm gonna tell PJ that I have proof and I emailed him the proof that the driver drove the vehicle.

I explained to PJ that the dash cam had video footage of the driver pulling the car out of the trailer and putting it back. You can literally disconnect the dash cam from the lighter switch in the car and you don't have any record. But he didn't know there was a GPS tracker on the car. He drove nine miles one way and nine miles another way. The moment you activate the engine, the GPS tracker starts working as it's driving. When he put the car on the trailer and drove it from Jersey all the way here to Houston, I had notifications of hard braking and hard acceleration. When he drove the car, I got two of both. And I told PJ I'm hoping that when I move to Texas and have to renew my license plate, I have no traffic violations in New York City.

I told PJ I didn't book it with the company that he gave me. I booked it with him so if I have an issue, I'm not gonna talk to the driver company. I wanna talk to him because he’s the broker. He’s the one who should be on top of the situation and go after the manager. When the guy came, I paid him the 1,000 and the only thing I told him when he got here was to drop down a little bit and look underneath the steering wheel. I told him that what he was seeing was a GPS tracker. I gave him the money and checked if everything was fine. And he went on his way.

They came, looked at the car, talked to me and my uncle, and then put it on there. I wasn't here when they dropped it off. My dad was. But everything was good. They were very helpful. The quote was okay. But they gave my mom a different quote than the one they gave me. There was a $100 difference. I would have liked the original quote, but it was fine.
