There are three steps to opening an IRA with Treasure Coast Bullion Group:
- Open an IRA: You can open an IRA by filling out a form online or calling customer service. If you qualify, Treasure Coast Bullion Group will walk you through each step of setting up your self-directed retirement account.
- Fund the account: Treasure Coast Bullion Group works with several types of accounts for funding. If you have an existing asset, such as mutual funds, certificates of deposit or other retirement accounts, you can roll over funds from those accounts into your new self-directed IRA with either a bank wire or physical check.
- Buy precious metals: You can select and purchase precious metals for your IRA once you review the options through Treasure Coast Bullion Group and decide what most closely matches your financial goals. The company sends your precious metals to a depository.
Once you select your precious metals for your gold IRA, the default storage location is primarily A-M Global in Las Vegas, Nevada, but customers can also choose from two other locations in Delaware or Texas.
Precious metals purchases
You can also purchase precious metals through the MetalsEdge division of Treasure Coast Bullion Group. Once you select your gold, silver, platinum or palladium options, you can choose home storage or a depository.
For MetalsEdge purchases, you can choose from a depository within one of the Brinks depository network, located either in New York or with A-M Global in Nevada. You can also ship the precious metals to your home.

I decided to make an investment to see how it would grow and see if I could add this to a retirement package. My experience with the rep at Treasure Coast was absolutely wonderful. The rep was very informative, knew exactly what was going on as far as the positives of purchasing silver or gold, and was fluent with the knowledge. Any question I asked, I was given an answer regarding where the coin came from, how it started and any history of it. I was really impressed. I was also not worried about anything. It was all up to me. I could do whatever I wanted. I could say, "I'll get back to you," or there was no push. It was very smooth.

Jim, the rep from Treasure Coast, was polite and sounded like someone I’ve known for a very long time. He seemed very trusting so I told him exactly what I was looking for and he educated me a lot on gold and silver. He was very good about what he does and made it very comfortable for me because I'm a first-time gold-silver buyer. I told him I'm a widow and I said I had no idea how this works. He told me exactly about the gold market, how much the dollar is worth, and what the gold possibly could make for a long-term investment. I got silver in a smaller denomination just in case things go wonky in this country. You can get gold coins but they’re still on the pricey side. Silver was more affordable and if something goes on, have a $25 increment to give.
Jim knew what he was talking about and he was a great guy. He texts me all the time on different things that are going down and I text him different things that are going down that he doesn't know. He was very personable, friendly and wonderful. I've already talked my mom into Treasure Coast. Jim has talked to her and she has purchased gold as well.

The caller from Treasure Coast seemed to be lacking in experience. He transferred me to somebody with more knowledge. The new rep spent four hours with me in the next three days explaining how the process worked and why it was beneficial for me to invest in silver, which I challenged. He was very knowledgeable. I could call him any time. If he does not answer the phone within 10 seconds, I'll get a text message saying, “I'll call you in a few minutes." The communication is incredible. Ryan is amazing. He cares about his clients.

The person I dealt with was always Ryan. He was outstanding. He was extremely comprehensive in his explanation. He was very clear. His comprehensive knowledge of the monetary system impressed me. However, the downside risks need to be explained more fully because the narrative given is always how the metals are poised to gain but the reality is that it can go down the other way no matter how it’s poised. It needs to be more balanced on the downside risks and the downside potential of the movement of the price of metals.

Treasure Coast is a great company. They really take care and look out for the customers. They're always looking at the new trends and different things, and they'll present them to you and give you a chance to review and make some recommendations for you, too. I've been dealing with Ryan there down at the Treasure Coast for a little over a year now. He's been very informative and helping me and guiding me through different things I never even thought of before. I have a very good relationship with him now. Everything's been going good.
I'm mainly a precious metals kind of guy, and this company is right where I wanted to do some investing. Usually, I would go to my Kitco site and view different things about the gold and silver. I called Treasure Coast and they gave me information that I asked for. I've been getting questions answered all along before I even started dealing with them. I trusted the person that I worked with there. I knew this person for many years. We did metal purchases. We started with one specific kind and then we have two kinds. Through conversations with the person that I deal with, they recommended to take some of the one kind and transfer it into the other kind, which we did. They explained the reasoning behind it, though.
They're really good about explaining why they would make this recommendation, but they don't say, "You need to do this." They just say, "This is what our recommendation would be and this is why." They're never pushy. I've already recommended multiple family and friends to Treasure Coast. I always tell them, "They're not pushy. They're just gonna give you information and you do with the information that you want, but you can't make a decision without the information."
