We recommend Vector Security for its smart-home automation, strong warranty and relocation services. It also has a solid lineup of equipment, including indoor and outdoor cameras. The biggest drawback is perhaps the cancellation policy, which could be more lenient; however, as a whole, we like Vector’s home alarm systems.

If you want to cancel service, you must send a 30-day cancellation notice to a Vector Security local branch. If you cancel before your contract is up, you will likely be subject to penalties such as equipment costs, an early termination fee and the costs for the remaining monthly monitoring fees.

Yes, there is a Vector Security app for both Apple and Android that lets you control and monitor your security system from your smartphone.

12 years ago, I came to Portsmouth to live and I was interested in getting a security system that would make me feel safe. My neighbors recommended Vector Security and I have felt safe these past 12 years. First of all, they were very helpful in offering options to provide me with the best plan for my safety and my budget. Second, the service department was always ready and willing to help me, even in the middle of the night. Every couple of years, when the time came for a new battery, the sound of the beeping definitely alerted me to this issue. Of course, it always happened in the middle of the night when I was trying to sleep. But I would always call the Service department and they would help me to find a way to silence the beeping and then ship me the new battery.

Third, for the past 12 years, I always felt safe coming home to my house late at night. Vector Security gave me that peace of mind! I was not worried about someone breaking into my home without my knowledge. I would recommend Vector Security without hesitation! They have provided me with excellent service for these past 12 years.

    I have been a Vector customer for about 15 months. I am pleased with the service. Recently, I had a problem with a door, due to repairman for the door knocking the alarm piece off the door while working on the sliding glass door. It didn't see the door after that. The Service pro was Wayne **. He had come prior to this call and he evaluated the problem and I will have a repairman return this week to finish the process with new components. I have been very pleased with all the customer service I have received from Vector. They answer my questions and help me resolve any issues,

    My most recent contact was with Robin **. She is amazing. Although I have had to wait to speak with Customer Service, Robin has been excellent. She listens, works on finding a good fit for the time and service and she has such a positive and helpful attitude. Robin is the kind of person every company should have in Customer Service. Thank you for hiring such wonderful people.

    This comment is just to reinforce my personal perspective about vector security. We are long time customers of Vector Security and I have to say that your company has the best customer service that I received from any company. Whether it was for a cell phone or internet providers...etc I don't get handle around. The technician Clifton was very professional and prompt, so much so that when he called to state the time that he would get to our home (8am) I had make sure that everyone was up feed and dressed. That is unheard of for a Saturday morning appointment, I'm NOT complaining but you usually have to wait a few hours before anyone would show up. I really appreciate that because it help jump start our day. Once again thank you, thank you for such kind and prompt service. I would definitely recommend your company to our friends and family.

    I chose Vector because I've had their services for well over 20 years (both residential and business). I have to come to trust and feel confident with their systems and very capable staff. This week's work was performed by Kevin, and required a big upgrade to a system that was 20 years old. Kevin did a spectacular job of changing out everything from the panels to the fire alarms and heat detectors. He is extremely knowledgeable, and I believe one of the remaining dinosaurs at Vector Security. I say this in the most endearing way, because without people that have the technical experience and expertise in all of the various systems that are out there, it would be simply put "a train wreck!"

    Ben has always been the salesperson that I have dealt with through the years, and again, can only say he is truly professional, and a first class individual. I would highly recommend Vector Security to any of my associates and/or friends, and I thank you for sending such capable people that are so knowledgeable, trustworthy, and with utmost integrity.     Yesterday Andrew the sales manager stopped by to discuss installing a home security system. He was very nice and had excellent customer service. He was very detailed in explaining the setup and everything involved. I appreciated his willingness to work with me and his professionalism. Today, the technician Maurilio showed up early to set up the system. He was also very professional and went above and beyond what was expected when setting up the cameras and sensors. He helped me fix a fault outlet that was disabling the power to the dining room and he made sure that everything worked before leaving. He also made sure to explain everything to me and to ensure that I had a great understanding of how the system worked. Overall 10/10 customer service. I highly recommend using this company when installing a security system.

    I was a customer for over 10 yrs and when I paid an outstanding balance that slipped through the cracks, I was informed I could get service again but turns out I was misinformed by your representatives.     On October 31, 2023 I received a call while at my place of employment from my sister that Vector called stating there was a back door error message received at my home. I googled the number for Vector put in the zip code for my service location and was transferred to the Raleigh area. I sat on the phone for a very long time (mind you while on a break at work which turned into my lunch time given the length of the wait). the young lady who answered the phone stated she could schedule a service call which would result in approximately $35 fee which she stated is customary for a service call. I have not been able to set my alarm for most of the year due to issues with the system. Later that evening the monitoring system started to beep incessantly and of course, by that time your customer service department is closed.

    My sister called me First thing this morning 11/01/2023 to state Vector called over in the night as well. I did see a call on my cell phone approximately 1am that occurred during the night while I was asleep. So, I again called the 800# found on the Website to yet, another aggravating wait time message. Your call will be answered momentarily; which momentarily was approximately 12 minutes of "Hold Music". Finally, an unidentified female answered the call. No, I apologize for the long Hold time or anything. I asked her name, and she gave it to me. I will be happy to share this information if contacted directly. I told her the reason for the call. She then immediately stated let me speak with our customer service, and I will be right back.

    A quick Hold Music message came on, then stopped abruptly. I checked my phone to ensure the call was still connected, although there was no longer "Hold Music" playing. After approximately an additional 20 minutes of waiting the call was disconnected. My system is still beating continuously and no one bothered to call me back although I provided my name and contact address. I am frustrated with the level of service provided in both contacts on yesterday so I will say it must be a training issue. I pay for a service from your company and do not feel that you are respecting me as a customer. I am working from home today and the constant beeping from the alarm system is extremely aggravating. I would like a timely resolution to this issue and hope that you will provide your representatives with coaching and development skills designed to retain your customers, if you care.
