    Is Xfinity home security good?

We like the security features that Xfinity offers, including the convenience of monitoring a property remotely through the app.

“I love the security I get from this security system. The fact that I can see who is on my property is a total win for me,” a reviewer in New Jersey said.

The equipment is often highly rated, but customers sometimes have complaints about technical issues, customer service and difficulty canceling services. Another downside is that you have to already be a Comcast customer, which somewhat limits availability. If you’re not, it’s worth it to look into your other options to see if you can find a better deal.

I have spoken to 20+ agents to do via both chat and phone and my issue is still not resolved. Let’s start with the automated system. I spent 10 minutes trying to get to a live agent because the automated system only wanted to restart my modem, send me links, and text messages. Every time I called I was told by the automated system that my modem was offline which is not true since I’m currently connected to my home internet. Once I finally got to a live person on the phone then became the true nightmare. I was then transferred to billing then to the cable dept. (which I don’t have) then to advanced repair for home security, and so on.

My issue is that I recently transferred my internet service and home security (2 cams and doorbell) to another address. I was paying for my security equipment in monthly installments over a 24 month period. Once my service was transferred the installment contract was terminated and I was billed for the remaining number of installments on my bill which I wasn’t advised of. I was told by one agent that there was this program that I can be placed on so that I can pay for the equipment charges over time. I was then transferred to an agent who said that she couldn’t process it on my account because my service is in the central area. She then transferred me to an agent who was rude and claimed to be Tier 3 and stated he had no knowledge of the program I was speaking of. I would like my bill to be adjusted and the $315 equipment charge removed and put back on installment. I would also like the calls and chats be reviewed because there is a serious lack of training for agents in this company.

We decided to change carriers after Xfinity increased their charges on our account. We discovered that after paying for Xfinity's home alarm system that the alarm system was NOT transferrable to another company. We were not told that when we bought the alarm system. Buyer beware.

We have had Xfinity internet and cable for a while. Last 3 months. It has been HORRIBLE!!!! Out more than working. Takes HOURS & HOURS to get through to a person. Technician here like 2 hours Saturday. Worked when he left. Out for at least an hour every day since then. Absolutely HORRIBLE.

I call Xfinity on a technical issue which was resolved on 5/23. During the call the agent said my bill could get lowered by $30/mo. We reviewed the promotion and I agreed. I received my first bill and instead of $30 less it was $30 more. I called Xfinity and requested they reinstate my previous service. They said no problem but now I’m paying over $12 more a month because there is not a promotion they can apply. The service is good but it is very pricey and be aware of the deceptive marketing they advertise. Very disappointed and frustrated with Xfinity and will be looking for alternate options. Also it is very difficult to get a live human on a service call. They want to use text chat.

Beware of this company. I had Xfinity Home security for 9 months, then canceled. I was charged the balance for the equipment, even though it was returned at the local xfinity store, and I have the receipt to prove it. They claim I was "buying" the equipment. I was not aware of this because the previous 3 times I had this service, I always had to return it. Now they refuse to help me. I'm being charged over $300 for absolutely nothing, while xfinity makes more money with the equipment that I returned. It's theft by deception. The local xfinity store even admits their mistake for accepting the return without telling me. Still NO ONE will fix the issue. I have no equipment and a $300 bill for nothing. Beware of doing any business with Xfinity!!

We have Xfinity for internet/tv/dvr. We had a plan that worked well for us. We began to have poor connectivity with our internet and called in a service request. While on the phone with the Xfinity rep, we were offered the EXACT plan for $10 less. When we asked them if they were certain that it was the same plan and was assured that it was. We agreed, who wouldn't? That was our mistake, trusting Xfinity. We found out the next day that it was the same plan just minus Showtime. It was a classic "bait & switch". So we asked for the old package to be put back onto our account (for the same cost) and they did, yet this time it was minus the DVR storage. They told us that if we wanted the DVR storage, then WE would have to pay $10 MORE a month. So now we're back to the same plan, same storage but WE'RE paying more for it. Xfinity is a bad player. Stay away!

Xfinity is nothing more than a large con-game. They make promises of "hot spots" and back up systems which virtually do not exist. We have life support equipment at home that they EXCLUSIVELY SAID would be maintained in an emergency, yet we were without internet and cell phone access for 2 hours +! They're so large that they don't care about complaints. Customer service is not in their vocabulary. Try finding their customer service contact info... it's buried in their website. They direct to to a bad loop "bot" that addresses nothing more than upgrades. If you want to get their attention, I've found that filing a formal complaint with the FCC and your state's Attorney General's office is the easiest & fastest way. Better yet find an alternative to these CON ARTISTS!

I worked a night shift. Excepted a call from Xfinity. Salesman was told to make it quick. I had worked the nightshift and was in bed. He went over the some sales pitch. I agreed to all BUT the security camera at 10.00 month for 2 yr. You can buy a package of cameras for that price. Any rate. I said NO to the camera. I signed the new package (higher speed internet). I received this camera in the mail. Never hooked it up.

Was told I had to buy it since I signed the new contract. Humm. Low and behold . Without my knowledge the camera was included... Whatever happened to the PRE Recorded conversation between the salesman and myself. It clearly would prove I did NOT want that camera. People be aware. Read everything before signing. I ended up paying 200.00 for a security camera that will only work with Xfinity service and the now that we payed for it. I've tried hooking it up. We get nothing from this camera. What a waste of my money!
